Our culture
How we do it – our culture
The base for our shared corporate culture is our values. As we operate in different business units and in different offices in numerous countries, our values are very important to us. They are what keep us together and make us work towards the same goals.
Sharing values and brand promise – To rely on, today and tomorrow – we create a culture together where we can enjoy working, keep developing and create value for our customers.
We have asked some of us who live this culture every day to tell you what it’s like to work with us. You’ll find the interviews right below.
A quick question to:
Semir Lilic, Vitec MV, Denmark
My name is Semir Lilic and I am a customer service manager at Vitec MV. I started at Vitec MV in February 2018.
What do you like most about Vitec?
Openness. For example, I’m a member of the customer support forum, an online community where we share information and guides in the Group. Maybe we have a problem and I think that in customer support, we’re the only ones with that particular problem. In that case, I can reach out to my customer support colleagues in other business units in Vitec, in Sweden, or in Norway, for input and advice. That allows me to feel confident and ready to handle any situation, because I know we’re part of something bigger.
Karin Liiw, Vitec Fastighet, Sweden
My name is Karin Liiw and I am Chief Marketing Officer at Vitec Fastighet. I’ve been here since 2009.
What makes you proud at work?
There’s so much that makes me proud. For example, the dedication of our employees – it’s inspiring to work with colleagues who are passionate about what we do. Another thing is being at the forefront of new technology and seeing how our products create value for our customers every single day.
Vitec’s first product was a software for energy monitoring for property owners; we’ve been working with energy and sustainability monitoring for 40 years! To highlight our customers’ positive sustainability efforts and inspire other property businesses, we established a sustainability award last year. During our annual customer event, VitecDagarna, we honor a winner among our customers who has achieved something impactful for the environment. By showcasing these good examples, we encourage others to follow suit.
Nadia Karukoski, Vitec Acute, Finland
My name is Nadia Karukoski, and I am an Account Manager. I joined Vitec Acute in the spring of 2021.
What is the reason why you chose this particular profession?
I enjoy immersing myself in problem-solving and meaningful communication with customers, helping them achieve their goals.
What would you do if you were not working with this, your alternative career choice?
If I weren't working in this field, I would consider being a physician, a detective, or even a robot designer, inspired by Star Wars C-3PO. 😉

Patrik Gineman, Product Owner, Vitec Samfundssystem, Sweden
I’ve worked at Agrando since 2017, and in 2019 we became part of the Vitec Software Group. It covers a large part of their administrative work, from online calendars to statistics and invoices. As product owner, I collect and prioritize feedback, bug reports and change requests from our customers and stakeholders. I also create specifications for the developers who build the applications.

As a member of the product team, I have the chance to impact our products every day.
Øyvind Eliassen, UX Lead, Vitec Fixit, Norway
My responsibility as UX lead is to ensure that all of our products follow best practice for UX design and meet the actual needs of our users and customers. I work with Valentina, our UX product manager, and other stakeholders to understand how our users perform their work and how our tools help them run their companies. When we improve or create new products, we conduct internal interviews and workshops before sketching solutions that are then refined into design prototypes. We always try to test and validate these prototypes with our users before passing them on to the development team. We also have a dialogue with the developers to make sure the end product meets our UX quality requirements.

Sustainability is at the center of our daily work.
Maarten van Beek, Consultant Flexible Power, Enova, Netherlands
I began at Enova in summer 2021. The company later became part of Vitec Software Group, in March 2023. My primary responsibility in this position is to handle and optimize operations of large electricity-consuming and producing assets on behalf of our customers. Our approach requires a deep understanding of our customers’ complex processes in order to improve their energy efficiency and reduce costs. Given the 24/7 nature of the electricity market, it is crucial for our systems to work seamlessly.
Our values
-
We started out by solving clearly niched challenges. This is also how we have grown. That’s why our products are our foundation. -
The simple ideas are often the best ideas. Paradoxically, they are often the hardest to find. -
It is only together that we can create success. And this is where you enter the picture.
A shared foundation makes us stronger – together
For us – everything starts with the products. They are a part of our history, but they are also our future. We constantly acquire new companies with unique products that solve specific challenges in society. That’s why all Business Units at Vitec have a common ground and a shared purpose: we all come from the same entrepreneurial background and want to contribute to business-critical products that do good in society. And in truth, many operations would stop without Vitec. That’s why we need to have a truly long-term perspective, which is expressed in our brand promise: To rely on – today and tomorrow.
An important aspect when we take on challenges is to make it simple. Sure, challenges can be big and demand a lot of thought. But even if the problems sometimes are complicated, we focus on finding a simple solution. One that works in the long run. Keeping it simple contributes to stability and balance when we take on work tasks. We prioritize and make sure that we solve the right problem. We ask ourselves: In what way will our solution contribute to the product creating value for our customers? We take it step-by-step and make certain we get continuous feedback.
We actively try to create environments that support openness and trust in each other. We believe it is a precondition, in combination with maintaining a respectful approach towards each other, for the creation of truly strong teams. Because the team is central to our shared success.
This is where you will play a key part, because each one of us has the responsibility to share, to learn from each other, to support and encourage as well as to invite to conversations. We simply put the team before ourselves. Because we are not alone in our work – we do this together.
